Girls Basketball

Session 1:  Skills & Drills Camp

Date: July 8 to July 11 (Monday through Thursday)

This session will focus on developing the fundamental skills of dribbling, ball handling, passing, and shooting.

Session 2:  Team Time Camp

Date: July 29 to August 1st (Monday through Thursday)

This session will focus on team concepts of play, such as team defense and offensive sets, in conjunction with building fundamental skills.

General Information for both camp sessions:

Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Ages:  7 - 12

Cost:  $185

Location: Salesianum Gym

Each camper will receive a t-shirt.

The camp staff will stress fundamentals, individual skill development, and team concepts of play.  Our goal is to teach all players the fundamental skills and basic techniques to help each girl become a better player.  These skills will be tested daily through drills and competition. Players will be grouped by age and skill level for certain drills and games.  Camp Staff includes Coach Godfrey, Coach Szczerba, and Coach Trevisan. They will also be assisted by high school student athletes.


Camp Director:  Katie Godfrey

Started her basketball career in the CYM program at St. Ann’s.  Went on to play at Ursuline Academy and Washington College. Coached basketball at Ursuline Academy and Salesianum School and volleyball at Padua Academy and Tower Hill.  Currently coaches basketball at the youth level for IHM School. Coach Katie teaches Mathematics at Salesianum and is a proud mom to four children, Sami, Patrick, Leenie, and Georgie Godfrey.


Assistant Director:  Dr. Joseph Szczerba

Started his basketball career at St. Anthony and then played at Salesianum School.  He went to University of Delaware and University of Virginia where he received his doctorate in Sports Medicine.  Coached basketball at St. Mary Magdalen, Salesianum School, and the YMCA. Coached soccer at St. Mary Magdalen, YMCA, Garnet Valley Soccer Club, FCB & White Clay Soccer Club.  Dr. Joe has taught at UVA, UD, Charter School of Wilmington, and Salesianum where he still teaches Physical Education and is the Head Athletic Trainer and is a proud dad to Joseph and Emma Jo Szczerba.


Assistant Director:  Taylor Trevisan

Started his basketball career at St. Agnes in West Chester, followed by Salesianum School where he led the varsity team as captain.  He played for St. Joseph’s University as an undergraduate and Chestnut Hill College as a post-graduate. He has coached at Chestnut Hill College and is the current Head Coach of Salesianum’s varsity basketball team.  Coach Taylor teaches Social Studies at Salesianum. Founder of NextCore Training which runs camps, clinics, and individual player development.
